Covering a Note Pad





Supplies Needed:

  • Always Artichoke cardstock 8 1/8 by 11"  Scored at 5 1/2 and 5 1/4"
  • Note Pad
  • Always Artichoke cardstock 5 by 4 1/2 for cover of note pad Scored at 2 1/2 and 2 1/4 on the short side.
  • Scallop border punch
  • Whisper White cardstock 4 3/4 by 1 5/8"
  • DSP 4 5/8 by 1 1/2"
  • Whisper White cardstock  8 by 5 1/4"
  • DSP 7 3/4 by 5"
  • Always Artichoke 6 1/2 by 3 3/4"
  • Whisper White (image panel) 6 1/4 by 3 5/8"
  • Always Artichoke 1 1/2  by 1 7/8"
  • Whisper White 1 3/8 by 1 5/8"   for sentiment
  • Always Arichoke 3 by 4 for bow.
  • Rhinesones
  • Mossy Meadow ribbon 24"
  • 1/8" Old Olive taffeta ribbon.
  • Dimensionals
  • Glue dots
  • Aqua painter
  • Bone folder  
  • Simply Scored
  • Bow Builder punch
  • Ink Pads:  Memento , Crumb Cake, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Sky, Marina Mist, Pacific PointAlways Artichoke.
  • Mossy Meadow marker
The Outside Cover:
  1. Cut 1/4" off bottom of Always Artichoke cardstock so that your piece measures 8 1/8 by 11
  2. Score at 5 1/4 and 5 1/2".  Crease folds.

The Note Pad:

  1. Take the 5 by 4 1/2 piece of Always Artichoke and score it at 2 1/2 and 1 1/4" on the short side.  Crease folds with bone folder.
2.  Using the scallop border punch, punch one of the ends of this piece.

3.  Adhere the 1 7/8 by 1 1/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock to the 4 5/8 by 1" DSP, and adhere both to the Scalloped side of the piece for the top of the note pad.

4.  Turn the piece over, and apply adhesive to the other half and the area between the score lines.  Do not apply adhesive to the scalloped end.

5.  Now attach this piece with the scalloped end on the front, and the glued end on the back.

Attaching the Note Pad to the Cover:

1.  Apply a generous amount of adhesive to the back of the note pad.





2.  Turn over and adhere to the right side of the outside cover, centering it and staying away from the fold lines.




Decorating the Outside:
1.  Adhere the 4 3/4 by 7 1/2" Whisper White cardstock to the 7 1/2 by 5 5/8" DSP.  Attach both to the outside cover.

2. Stamp the 3 5/8 by 6 1/4" Whisper White image panel using the Buttefly Basics stamp set.

3.  Colour using medium of choice.  Aqua painter and ink pads used here.  Mat the art piece with a 6 1/2 by 3 3/4" piece of Always Artichoke.

Dying the Ribbon:
1.  Using an always Artichoke or Mossy Meadow marker, color the 1/8"  Old Olive taffeta ribbon.

2. Blend with an Aqua painter, and let dry.

3.  Attach to the top of the art piece.

4. Place the 24" of Mossy Meadow ribbon equally around the card.

 8.  Add dimensionals to the back of the top and bottom of the art piece, and above and below where the ribbon will slide underneath.


9.  Flip art piece over and attach to the note pad cover.



Making the Bow
 Make a bow using the Bow Builder punch, put a large rhinestone in the center and adhere to the middle of the altered ribbon using a glue dot.

Punch twice



Place a rhinestone in the center and adhere to the top of the note pad over the taffeta ribbon.



The Sentiment:

1.  Stamp the sentiment on the 1 3/8 by 1 5/8" piece of Whisper White cardstock, using Basic black ink. and mat with the 1 1/2 by 1 7/8" piece of Always Artichoke.


2.  Attach to the lower middle of the art piece.



Add bow.

You are now finished.
